For us, this redesign provides a much better framework for monetization.  And, let’s face it, without money coming in we won’t be able to do this for too long.  Making comics is a lot of effort — it ain’t easy.

For you, dear reader, this redesign will provide a much better experience — easier to read, easier to see the entire website, easier to enjoy yourself, basically.  We want you to have a good time here, and the website is part of that experience.  We’ve got some great stories and artwork coming your way and we want to make sure our house is in order when you come to visit.

This shouldn’t take too long (fingers crossed), and will certainly be complete before the relaunch this Summer.  So hang in there, it’ll be worth it!

The air assault consisted of 24,000 American, British, Canadian, and free French troops.  160,000 troops hit the beach, supported by a flotilla of 5,000 ships manned by 197,000 sailors.  The invasion was over 50 miles of coast centered at Normandy and divided into 5 sectors:  Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno,  and Sword.  The entire operation was commanded by Allied Expeditionary Force Supreme Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower.  The invasion finally ended June 30th and was a decisive Allied Victory.

In this one operation, there were nearly 10,000 American casualties; 2,900 were fatal.

There are no words to describe what happened during this battle, though plenty of books an movies have been made about this time in our history.  The most visceral, I think, was the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.  You Tube Clips of it are below.

Take a little time today to remember those incredibly brave souls.  Many people talk of heroism, those 175,000 lived it.
