What got you into comics? This website! Actually, I’ve never been a comic book person necessarily. It’s not that I don’t like them, just that I’ve never read more than one or two. But I am excited to see the things that others are doing with comics online now and I’m happy to be a small part of it.
How did you learn your skill/trade? I’m mostly self-taught, although I have had several programming classes over the years.
What tools/equipment do you use (hardware and software)? I work on a Dell Inspiron 17″ laptop at the moment, but I’m eagerly awaiting the release of Windows 7 so I can shop for a shiny new laptop with lots of memory that can better handle all my multitasking. My browser of choice is Firefox and I simply cannot do my job without the Firebug plugin for Firefox.
For website hosting, I have three favorites: I started years ago with BlueHost and they continue to be one of my favorites. First, they have what’s called a cPanel interface which is wonderful to work with. Second, I absolutely love their support. I can always speak to a live person on the phone within minutes and they are native English speakers in this country. They’re the original nerds you always asked for help years ago. 
Another host I love is Host Gator. They have the same great cPanel interface and I’ve never had a problem with their support.
If your business is large enough that you need a more powerful hosting solution, then I highly recommend WiredTree. I have a managed virtual private server with them that I use for hosting my sites and my development environments. I absolutely LOVE them and their support simply can’t be beat. (In case you haven’t noticed, support is one of THE most important things to me when choosing a host and it should be to you as well. There’s lots of cheap hosting out there, but without a good business to back it up, it’s useless.)
